Requirements
If your dog is under veterinary care for a specific health condition it is important to have the vet’s permission before K9 Touch. This work does not take the place of veterinary medicine but rather complementary. to it.
Some conditions that might be noted for veterinary consent are;
- problematic pregnancies
- post operative rehab immediately after surgery
- chronic heart, liver or kidney failure
- diabetes
- problems with immune system
If you are unsure whether your dog’s condition needs veterinary consent, get in touch. I am also happy to speak with your veterinarian, if they would like.
If your dog is undergoing any of the following conditions it is advised to NOT do K9 Touch but rather to seek veterinary care.
- suffering from shock
- lethargic, with fever, vomiting or diarrhea
- respiratory distress
- an injury with massive bleeding
- distension of abdomen with respiratory distress or very painful belly with slight pressure
